A graduate in Physics from Durham University, his aviation career spans 24 years, including business jet sales for BAE Systems, aircraft financing for Short Brothers PLC and aircraft sales for Bombardier Regional Aircraft. In 1997 he founded an aircraft financing consultancy, working for three major UK airlines and a global oil company.

In 2000 he joined Jersey European Airways as Director of Fleet Planning. Jersey European Airways was rebranded as Flybe in 2005.

In the 8 years since joining Flybe, David has driven the rationalisation of Flybe’s fleet, including that from Flybe’s acquisition of BA Connect in March 2007 – in the process financing 86 aircraft and disposing of 39 aircraft.
